Quantum AV is an independent UK hi-fi and home cinema specialist. We've been part of the UK specialist AV scene since 2007, and in 2025 the business entered a new chapter under new ownership.
Our background
Quantum AV traded for nearly two decades as a specialist shop in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. The business is now under new ownership and has consolidated its physical retail in North Yorkshire, while continuing to serve customers across the UK online.
The team now running Quantum AV previously built AV Online (originally audiovisualonline.co.uk, today AV.com) into one of the UK's largest specialist online retailers of hi-fi and home cinema. By the time of its acquisition in 2021, AV Online operated from a 26,000 sq ft warehouse and showroom in Bacup, Lancashire and had opened the UK's first Monitor Audio Platinum architectural cinema room.
What we do
We sell mid-to-high-end hi-fi and home cinema: speakers, amplifiers, streamers, projectors, screens, and the cables and racks that hold a serious system together. If you know what you want, the website covers most of the major specialist brands. If you don't know where to start, that's what we're here for, and it's why we built the showroom.

The showroom
Our Catterick Garrison demonstration centre is open to visitors. The purpose-built room has studio-grade acoustic treatment and is anchored by a Dolby Atmos 7.2.4 system built around Monitor Audio's in-wall and in-ceiling architectural speakers. Visitors can audition systems ranging from first stereo setups to reference-grade cinema installations. Walk-ins welcome during opening hours; booking ahead means we'll have the room ready for you.
