Monitor Audio
Founded in 1972 in Cambridge, England, Monitor Audio was established with a focus on creating loudspeakers that reproduce music as the artist intended rather than imposing their own sonic character. The company relocated to Rayleigh, Essex in 1976, where it remains headquartered today.
Monitor Audio operates under what the company describes as a Transparent Design Philosophy — an approach built on solid engineering and scientific mastery, with the goal of producing speakers that impose themselves as little as possible and let the recording do the talking. The research and development department has grown to a team of 40 people, with approximately half specialising in software and electronics, reflecting the increasingly complex demands of modern audio design.
The brand's product range spans high-fidelity two-channel loudspeakers, architectural speaker solutions, home cinema systems, outdoor speakers, lifestyle audio, and a growing range of amplifiers and streamers. Monitor Audio also owns the British electronics brand Roksan and the lifestyle audio brand Blok, positioning the group as a broad-spectrum manufacturer serving both the dedicated hi-fi market and the wider connected home.
